Asiana Airlines and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) today celebrated the airline’s 20th anniversary of serving Los Angeles and North America, where Asiana’s first aircraft was welcomed in 1991 from Seoul, Korea.  Presently, Asiana Airlines serves the North American routes 39 times a week which includes destinations from Incheon to Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, and Honolulu.

 Asiana Airlines was awarded the Skytrax Airline of the year in 2010, the Air Transport World Airline of the year in 2009 and has been a Skytrax 5 star airline since 2007.  In September 2011, Asiana cargo planes began services to Miami and Portland totaling the cities where they operate cargo aircraft to seven cities with 19 flights per week.

LAX is the sixth busiest airport in the world and third in the United States, offering more than 565 daily flights to 81 domestic cities and over 1,000 weekly nonstop flights to 65 international destinations on over 75 carriers   LAX is part of a system of three Southern California airports – along with LA/Ontario International and Van Nuys general aviation – that are owned and operated by Los Angeles World Airports, a proprietary department of the City of Los Angeles that receives no funding from the City’s general fund.
